I'm Acteus (or Act)! I'm a bi enby girl (I'm a she or a they, whichever), I have an alphabet soup of mental dalliances, I was born 6/25/1990, and I have a B.S. in Earth and Space Science (read: i know a lot about rocks). I love animals, cartoons, illustration, video games, fandom participation, closed species, furries, fursuiting, succulents and house plants, sociological subjects, and more!I have been on this information superhighway since, statistically, before many of those reading this were even born! Wow! Growing up as a neurodivergent queer kid on Neopets and other forums in the aughts was seminal in shaping who I am and who many of my peers are. Much of my work hearkens "nostalgia", but it's not in an attempt to evoke this emotion, just evidence of the proverbial Darigan Paint Brush's work on my DNA long, long ago.

Illustration Samples and Types

Colored sketches

Flat colored figures
have clean line art. Minimal shadows, lighting and abstracted background elements included.

Simple shading
is a flat colored figure with added simplistic, single tonal shading. Minimal lighting and abstracted background elements included.

Fully rendered pieces
are illustrations meant to be rendered with the highest complexity I offer, including a background.

Digital paintings and illustrations
are, well... paintings and illustrations! Less ideal for characters or concepts with lots of distinct lines and edges.

Cardboard art
is what happens when you try to find cheap, readily-available canvas for markers and it becomes A Thing

"What? Well are you OKAY with racis--" my dude I do not know how to tell you how value-negative a wholly unenforceable list of virtues on a website is to me. I treat it with the exact same level of sincerity and weight as a coffee shop with a "We Don't Serve Murderers 💗" sign in the window.I feel as though it promotes thought-terminating clichés, of feeling the need to boil the shifting, complex reality of the Self down. I feel it shifts the onus of curation onto the Other instead of the Self, where a difference of belief or opinion becomes taken as an inherent betrayal, via perceived omission of information.
